Deb is a native Virginian and received her Executive MBA from Averett University. With her, she brings experience from military, professional, and volunteer positions in a variety of fields, including banking, accounting, financial budgeting, human resources, marketing, education, taxes, payroll, real estate, medicine, construction, engineering, publishing, general business administration, and more.
In addition to being a Bookkeeping and Individual Tax Specialist at Old Town Bookkeeping, Deb also volunteers throughout the year with her church community, Virginia Co-Op in Northern Virginia, and Junior Achievement in Fairfax County, where she participates in Reality Stores (a budgeting scenario for children and teens). Having used her many skills and talents to help those around her, she is a proud recipient of the Commander’s Award for Public Service from the United States Army.
Oliver has been with Old Town Bookkeeping since 2014. Before joining OTB, Oliver worked in a variety of industries, including real-estate, investment finance, mobile app development, and talk-radio. He specializes in investigative finance and accounting, general bookkeeping, financial and business analysis, accounts receivable and collections, mass auditing and reconciliation, custom template creation for small business use, and web app design with social media integration. Oliver also researches the answers to various questions asked by our clients and records the commentary that can be found on our Articles page.
A Virginia native, Oliver graduated from George Mason University with his Bachelor’s in Finance. He currently attends Texas A&M University Law School, where he is obtaining his J.D. with a double-concentration in Intellectual Property Law and Dispute Resolution. Oliver also represents his school in the ABA's International ADR Competitions and in FINRA's Securities Dispute Resolution Competitions, where he competes in tournaments around the world that test upper-level law students on their negotiation, mediation, and arbitration skills, both in civil and criminal contexts as well as with issues in the Financial Industry. Outside of school and work, Oliver participates in volunteer activities directed at educating small businesses on how to avoid environmentally destructive and economically wasteful trade practices.
Our Principal, Kris Novak, has over 20 years of bookkeeping experience and is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. In addition to growing the DC area revenue of a Fortune 500 company for nearly 10 years, she has also launched three of her own companies.
